Algebra 2 / Course Rules

Math Classroom Procedures

All work must be turned in on time.

  • Assignments are given for a week at a time. These assignments are due by the end of the day on the Friday of the week they were assigned. Assignments not completed by their due date may become inactive.
  •  Projects and longer assignments will have specific due dates depending on the length of the assignment.

All assignments must be submitted by their due dates to receive full credit. If you are having trouble on an assignment, let me know as soon as possible so that you can receive help and still turn the assignment in on time. Assignments turned in after their due dates will not receive full credit. A 10% penalty will be given to all late work.

  • Special circumstances, such as illness, technical problems, or other, will be given special consideration. You must be able to provide verification of these special circumstances.

Extra credit opportunities will be offered periodically through the course. If you keep up on your assignments and get help when needed, the extra credit shouldn't be needed.

Class Announcements

  • Be sure to read the Notice Board at least once a week. Assignments, reminders, messages, and changes will be listed there.

Course Checklists

  • Follow the Course Checklists each week so you know what needs to be turned in by the end of week.

Grades will be based on the following criteria:

  • Completion of daily assignments.
  • Acceptable level of mastery displayed through quizzes and tests. (Level of mastery will vary from topic to topic depending upon its complexity.)
  • Completion of any projects or portfolio-type activities assigned during the course.
  • A small portion of your grade could be a notebook grade. Each lesson requires you to enter examples and vocabulary into your notebook. Occasionally, there may be additional items to be placed in the notebook. (These items will be described within the lesson.) The notebook may need to be submitted periodically for assessment. The Notice Board and the Checklist will let you know if the notebooks are to be turned in.

Please be sure to manage your time appropriately.  It is your responsibility to keep up with your school work in an online school. I am here to assist you when the need arises, but your success depends on you.
