The heart is a muscle with four chambers and four valves that continuously pumps blood through our body. The heart beats on average 72 times per minute, pumping 1,900 gallons (7,200 Liters) of blood through our body each day. This blood is necessary to provide oxygen and nutrients to organs, tissue and cells, and to remove carbon dioxide and other wastes. Interested in learning more about the heart blood flow?
