7th Grade Math / Lesson 9: Solving Inequalities II

INEQUALITIES
What will we be learning in this lesson?

  • In this lesson, you will learn how to use inverse operations to solve inequalities.
Vocabulary words are found in this purple color throughout the lesson. Remember to put these in your notebook.

Inequalities

  • In this section we will continue to use inverse operations to solve inequalities.

  • This time the inverse operations will be multiplying and dividing.

Inequalities

  • Use the inverse operation to solve the inequality. Graph the solution.

Inequalities

  • Use the inverse operation to solve the inequality. Graph the solution.

    1.   2x < 16     Remember, to solve, you need to get the variable by itself.

  • There is multiplication in the problem, so to solve, we need the inverse operation. This would be division.

Inequalities

  • Use the inverse operation to solve the inequality. Graph the solution.

    2.   X/3 > 12

Inequalities

  • Use the inverse operation to solve the inequality. Graph the solution.

    2.   X/3 > 12    Remember, to solve, you need to get the variable by itself.

  • There is division in the problem, so to solve, we need the inverse operation. This would be multiplication .

  • Can you use inverse operations to find solutions to an inequality?

  • Go back to the classroom to get to your homework and any other items you need to attend to.
