There are several different sets of muscle working in the arm. The most well known muscles are the biceps and triceps. The biceps muscles, or more formally known as the biceps brachii, is located at the front of the upper arm. It is primarily responsible for flexing the forearm at the elbow. The triceps muscles, or triceps brachii, is located on the back of the upper arm. It is responsible for extending the forearm at the elbow, and extending the arm at the shoulder.
