The swordfish is native to tropical, subtropical and temperate oceans of the world. Swordfish is named after its sharp beak resembling a sword. They are a large fish, the biggest growing up to 15 feet in length and weighing 1,500 pounds. They can swim very fast, capable of reaching speeds up to 50 mph.
