The parrot fish is native to the shallow reefs of the Red Sea and the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans. The parrot fish are named for their their numerous, tightly-packed teeth forming a parrot-like beak. They use these beak-like teeth to rip algae from coral reefs.
