		George Washington was the first president of the United States of America. He was the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army. We celebrate his birthday on February 22 with a holiday.

Abraham Lincoln		Top of Page
		Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth president of the United States. He was president from 1861-1865. He issued the Emancipation Proclamation that freed the slaves. He was assassinated (killed) in 1865. We celebrate his birthday on February 12 with a holiday.

		George W. Bush is the current president of the United States. He is the 43rd president of the United States.
