The double-crested cormorant is a seabird found mainly along inland waterways and coastal areas across North America, from Alaska down to Florida and Mexico. They are an all-black bird with a bare patch of orange-yellow facial skin. Their names comes from the fact that they gain a small double crest of black and white feathers during breeding season. With webbed feet they can swim in water, and dive under water up to 25 feet to catch its fish prey. Play the following videos to learn more about the double-crested cormorant.
