Congruent FiguresTwo plane figures are congruent, if they have the same size and shape. Example:
How can you say that? 1. Cut a figure along the borders carefully. 2. Now place this on the other figure. 3. If the other figure is covered completely, the figures are congruent. Note: Figures that differ in shape or size are never congruent. Above figures are not congruent, as figure 2 is bigger than figure 1. Above figures are not congruent, as they are of different shapes.
