Digestive System:Nerves and the Digestive System |
The liver is part of the hepatic system. The hepatic system carries blood from parts of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract to the liver. The products of digestion are processed in the liver. Useful sustances, such as nutrients and minerals, are released back into the blood or stored in the liver for later use. Non-useful materials, such as toxins, are extracted and disposed of through other digestive processes. Read on to learn more about the liver, and its role in digestion. On this page: |
