The heart is the most important organ in your body. It continuously pumps blood through the arteries, veins and capillaries of the circulatory system. The heart beats on average 72 times per minute, pumping 1,900 gallons (7,200 Liters) of blood through your body each day. By the age of 70, your heart will beat about 2.5 billion times, and pump 48 million gallons (182 million liters) of blood. Interested in learning more about the heart?
