Multiples: In the multiplication sentence, 2 x 3 = 6,
6 is a multiple of 2, as well as multiple of 3.

Even Numbers:A number is said to be even, if it is a multiple of two.

Example:   2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 etc.,

NOTE: The last digit of an even number (multi-digit) always ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8.

Example: 540  ; 789,432  ; 6,284  ;  25,966  ;  843,218  are even.

Odd Numbers: A number that is not a multiple of two is odd.

Example: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 etc.,

NOTE: The last digit of an odd number (multi-digit) always ends in 1, 3, 5, 7 and  9.

Examples: 7,041  ;  274,193  ;  7,315  ;  57  ;  127,489 are odd.

Remember, 0 is neither even nor odd.

Square Numbers:  Observe the array given. Does it look like a square?

Yes.

Why?

Because, the number of rows equals the number of columns.

Multiplication table

So, when you multiply two same numbers, the product you get is a square number.

9 is a square number.

Examples: 2 x 2 = 4 ; 3 x 3 = 9 ; 4 x 4 = 16 ; 5 x 5 = 25 ; 6 x 6 = 36 ; 10 x 10 = 100 ; 12 x 12 = 144.

4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 100, 144 are all square numbers.

Note1: 1 is a square number with 1 row and 1 column.
